Working Group Updates

  • WRC 2028 Cycle

  • Tech

    • Qualification points reset for players

    • Tournaments ready to be integrated into website

  • Communications

    • All socials are posting content, please check them out and give them a follow!

    • Action Item: Schedule meeting with Canadian overseeing Riichi organization to discuss collaboration to promote both scenes

  • US Rankings

    • Looking at ranking systems of other organizations

    • Discussion of what to do for varying skill levels and non-ARA tournaments

  • Education

    • Tournament metrics write-up

  • Professional Organizations

    • Next World Riichi League event is June 27th in Las Vegas, Oklahoma, and New York City

    • Saikouisen is going to have an online academy at TBD with Japanese and US instructors for a fee

    • Ryuousen qualifiers to be held May 30th during AMOS Fest with varying players sent based on numbers of entrants

    • Saikouisen USA Pro Test to be held on June 14-15th in Los Angeles at LAPOM, the fee is 250$ and the deadline to register is 5/18/25

  • ARML 

    • C1 division is split this season in case there is to be an expansion

    • Still doing Wednesday broadcasts, please check them out on Twitch!

  • Rules and Judging

    • Harrison will be enforcing a strike system for the DCO

    • 3 free strikes, then at 4th and up you will be eligible for a point penalty less than or equal to a chombo

  • Community Engagement

    • If you have a club, please share content with Community Engagement so we can repost it!

    • Plan to make short form videos after Mother’s Day

  • Elections

    • Four members serving the longest set to be up for reelection

    • Candidates will be eligible to apply at May meeting, and elections will happen at a later date
